La Forge Estate, Merlot 2021

The Estate Merlot appears a deep purple colour with lashings of black fruit aromas, mingled with candied fruits and warm spice on the nose. The palate opens with great intensity, medium bodied with layers of ripe blackberry, plum and dried cherry fruits, sweet spice with firm tannins, finishing meaty and robust with hints of vanilla and even more lasting dark fruits. An excellent Merlot that needs time to open, 1-2 hours and will get even better with age 5-7 years. Best served with steak, other red meats and a strong cheese.
